Odgers, is rapidly advancing as a 'lstrong educa- tional institutionf' Since l95f'l, when Dr. Odgers assumed the presidency. the reorganization of the academic adminis- tration into three separate colleges has strengthened our academic program, the faculty salary hudget has increased, endowments have tripled, and the physical plant has heen enlarged hy the addition of several new buildings. llr. Odgers states that Hit is still the heyondw that heekons as the University goal. Thus, the Hliucknell Blueprint 1962- l972i' has heen designed to move Bucknell into the forefront among universities of its kind. This ten-year plan includes 18 1 improvements totalling over twelve and one half million dollars. More than half of the money is to he used for such non-physical items as scholarships and unrestricted endow- ments for institutional purposes. The remainder of the money will he used toward the enlargement of the physical plant with the construction of several major huildings. Before coming lo Bucknell. llr. Odgers served as a pre- fessor and administrator at thc University of Pennsylvania, which is his Alma Nlater, and as president of Girard College. He has heen awarded honorary doctorates hy Temple Uni- versity, Ursinu:-1 College, the University of Pennsylvania, and Lafayette College.
