WOMEN ' S STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION Seated, Left to Right — L. Miller, E. Miller, Woehling, Kloss, White. Second Row — Knoebel, Frantz, Wolfinger, Whittam, Cober. The Women ' s Student Government Association is the governing body of the women students at Bucknell. It is composed of two houses: the Senate and the House of Representatives. Senate is made up of representatives from the senior, junior, and sophomore classes; a social chairman, a fresh- man counselor, a town representative, and a Panhellenic representative. Representatives from each corridor and house, and the house mothers make up the membership of the House. This year W. S. G. A. ' s two main activities have been reviving the student-faculty Christmas banquet and drawing up a new Constitution for the women students. COUNSELORS A group of upper-class women, selected for their ability to meet and get along with people, live in the Freshman dormitories to aid Fresh- man women in adjusting to college life. Representing democratic principles, the Student Faculty Congress is an organization which enables students and professors to work together on student activities, such as freshman rules, the student budget, and social activi- ties on the campus. The Congress is composed of students and members of the faculty, representing leading campus organiza- tions. There are also two members of the V-12 Unit on the Congress. The officers are Elise Miller, president; Dorothy Stolzenberg, vice president; Norma White, secretary; Robert Altemus, treasurer for the November term, and Roger Haddon, treasurer for the March semester. The faculty ad- viser of the group is Dr. James A. Gathings. UNIVERSITY SOCIAL COMMITTEE Under the chairmanship of Mrs. Dorothy R. Young, the University Social Committee, com- posed of faculty and student representatives, serves as an overall planning and advisory com- mittee for the social functions of the college.
