Marts, Commencement, June, 1945, marks the close of a proud chapter in the history of Bucknell. Despite the increasing pressure of outside obligations, Dr. Marts has led the University through a decade of unprecedented achievement and growth. His wisdom, quiet strength, and deep understanding have inspired the whole campus, and to Bucknellians everywhere, he is the Bucknell Way of Life. Dr. Marts led the college through the difficult war years; to our new president, Dr. Herbert L. Spencer, belongs the inspiring task of shaping the Bucknell of the future. We have known fine men :

I mH Dr. Romeyn Henry Rivenburg Dean Fulfilling his duties as Vice President and Dean, Romeyn H. Rivenburg has gained recognition as a capable executive and as a sympathetic friend to students who come to him for aid in planning their college courses. After twenty-two years of service at Buck- nell he announced in November his retirement, effective July 1, 1945. He has exerted great power over many phases of student life and has tempered that power with common sense and understand- ing. Dean Rivenburg will be succeeded by Dr. William H. Coleman, professor of English, who will serve for a period of one year and will give the President-elect special help during the first year of his administration. and received good counsel
