CLASS PROPHESY It was the spring of 1965. Ten years had elapsed since li had graduated from Buckland High school. Having decided to look up some of my class mates, I went to Dayton to board a plane for New York to see Charlene Lishness, who was starring in a Broadway play. When entering the flight office to pick up my tickets for the flight, I was greeted by a familiar face which was none other than Waneta Sunderland. While chatting with her I learned that she was a receptionist at the airport. While waiting for my flight, which would be about an hour late, a stewardess came in to pick up some papers that she had left. I was surprised to find that it was Barbara Tester. I find r.ut from her that several others of my classmates were working at the airport. I stepped out of the flight offices and bumped into one of the mechanics. I excused myself and as I was picking up my hand bag I thought I recognized his voice, I did! It was Homer Sprague. I talked with him for a while and then, since this was my first flight, I was feeling a bit nervous. Waneta directed me to the base hospital, where I was met by the nurse who was none other than Laureda Ewing. She told me the Doctor would see me right away. All my fears disap- peared when Laureda told me Bob Ramga was the Doctor. While glancing out the office window I noticed an M.P. standing by the gate onto the field. I thought I recognized him so I asked Bob to confirm my suspicions. I was right, it was Roger Shoffstall, who was a guard for the airport. I opened the window and called to him. He got a guard to relieve him. He came over and we talked over old times. I had lost all my nervous tension while talking to my classmates. It was just about time to board the plane, so I started for the field. There I met three other passengers who were Jacqueline Truesdale, now married to Donald Lenhart, Alice Ramga, now Mrs. Roland Truesdale, and Han- nah Holtzapple, who was married to Glenn Krites. They told me they were going to see Charlene in her play. We started to board the plane when we saw Roxie Howard, now Mrs. D. Whetstone, talking to the pilot and co-pilot who was Don Whetstone and Franklin Place. We discussed it among ourselves and decided to meet in New York for a class reunion. So I continued on my way to New York to await their arrival. By Sharon Wagner
