... -.,- WHITEFEATHER -.,- -. , - - -.-.., Cur Superintendent Speaks Meeting Pupil-Community Needs The school is an agency established by the people to provide system- atic instruction and guidance in certain aspects of effective wholesome liv- ing supplementary to that already provided by home, church, and commug ity. To be fully effective the school's program must be continuously controlled by three important considerations: Cai pupil-community needs and resources as indicated by systematic studles of theseg tbl the aspects of living with which the people, to Whom the schools belong, desire systematic instruction and guidance, and ici the character of the educational experiences already pro- vided by home, church, and community. Each of these aspects of the social situation of which the school is a part places definite restrictions upon the school's program and indicates important responsibilities. To develop CI truly effective program those responsible for the program will need to thor- oughly familiarize themselves with these important aspects of the situation and be guided accordingly. Many classifications of pupil and community needs have been prepared.
