ROSE COTTAGE In sight of Lee ' s last camp After Appomattox, close to U.S. High- way 60 near Buckingham Court House, stands Rose Cottage, the old William Shepherd home. The dwelling, which is a perpetual Civil War Shrine is maintained andj owned by the Buckingham Chapter of United Daughters of the Confederacy. J On the interior, the simple charm which is common to old structures is ex-1 emplified by the wooden pegged staircase. It is a long story and a half m house with dormer windows.
