THE SENIORS IN HIGH WATER There was a FLOOD IN '38; Upon my WORD the hour was late; It was a dark and RAINEY week; All the LOEW houses began to leak. 'Twas then a KIDD came RUSHING by, To SEAY the water, which was very high; One girl's ambition was a SENGER to be; So she sang some numbers l, 2, and 3. Over the fields the HAY was down; We saw a GRIFFIN flying around. The wind was raging, a sight to see; It even blew down a SIMMON tree! And in a RUSH the water was down; Along the road some MOSS we found; The people wondered what the PRICE would be, To repair the damage that they could SHAY. Home again! Home again! What a joy For every little girl and boy! Now GARLANDS we see lying around In many places over the ground. -Ealnor Shumaker IN THE SPRING Have you ever seen old Central in the spring? Happy, dear, old Central in the spring? When the children's cries are ringing, And the Choral Clubs are singing, For the victory home we're bringing, in the spring. Have you ever seen a Senior in the spring? A dignified Senior in the spring? When the teachers! heads are hoary, And the Senior tells his story, Of expected wealth and glory, in the spring. -Martha Spencer 26

JUNIOR JINGLES When pranks are in vogue on the second floor hall, 'Tis Norma Allen who leads in them all. Here's Marietta Baird, pet of the class; We depend on her always, our dear little lass. Then Nancy our president, whom we adore; We love her and so does a certain sophomore 3! Our artistic genius , we heard Someone say, And cheerfully helpful -- that's Herbert Maxey. Then Catherine Beatty, otherwise Kay, Her love affairs give her much trouble,: they say. As Lillian Russell, or some vamp of the stage, We think Doris Word will be quite the rage. And now comes Hugh, our musical boy, Vho plays the guitar as if it were a toy. Martha Hllen Jones, our biggest humdinger, She may be small, but boy, what a singer! Now there's Gillispie, the team's greatest sport, OC watch him! 0 watch him, he's rounding the court. And there's Lucy Bowling, who's heading the crowd; Just hear them, O hear them all cheering so loud! Now look! There's Bailey, our noon entertainer, Who acts like a clown or an animal trainer. And here is Foster, our actor, our star. His fame in dramatics is traveling far. And now Nick Snoddy, our famous musician, Whose music so charms us, he seems a magician. And do we have beauties? For instance, we'll say, There's Ella or Ruby for queen of the May. Now time won't permit me to mention us all, But if you would meet us, drop in for a call. You'll find us fine fellows; sparkling like dew, The JUNIORS! The JUNIORS! The class of ‘42! -Marietta Baird and Nick Snoddy 28
