xg . r , ex, -'H-so Ts ' ' ' rjifexf ii The Rhododendron - FE-T gf gi? , V 113 ELLIS CORLEY Ellis is a sophomore and one of the light weights of the team. But what he lacked in weight and experience, he made up in punch. He has the build for a good sized boy and looks good for two more years. PATTON YOUNG Rocky played his first year of football as one of the quarterbacks. This is a difficult position on any team, but for an inexperienced quarterback on an inexperienced team the road is just like Rocky's nickname. Nevertheless, he ran the team in good fashion, and was one of the best ground gainers when he toted the ball. He, too, is a junior. n JAMES BRYANT Tucky',, only a sophomore and small, alternated at quarterback with Young. He, ton, was in his first year at football but displayed much potential ability. If he only grows a little he would make a whiz for the next two years. KENNETH STANLEY Kenneth, another Junior, was one of the few on this year's squad who had any experience at all. Last year he subbed at guard and tackle, but this year was shifted to one of the half back positions. His strong point was in running interference. ROBERT COYNER Bob came out for his first football last fall, and made a regular out of himself. At the fullback position he was a consistent ground gainer either through the line or in broken field running. He was also good on the receiving end of a pass. He, too, has a-:other year. JACK WILBUR jack, another junior, was moved from end to the backfield. Last year he played in one or two games which was the extent of his experience. However, he proved to be the hardest running and hardest hitting back of the squad. His size, however, was against him, as he barely tipped the scales at 130. CHARLES WHITE Charley , last year's student manager, decided to try his hand at the game this year. He developed rapidly and by the close of the season was playing some gvod ball. Along with his experience he has gained some weight and looks good for the backfield next year. KEITH SHAW Keith, another sophomore, is one of the real small boys on the team. For this reason he did not see much service, but shows promise of being an expert runner and ball toter. With two more years before him he should develop into one good backfield man.
