The girls track team had some personal successes this season. The team was victori- ous in the season opener against West Jeff. Outstand- ing individual performances during the season were seen in a variety of events. Sherry Rowe was consistently I st and 2nd in the shot put and discus. Kristi Price and Julie Warner placed Ist and 2nd in every league meet in the I00 hur- dles. Carrie Crooks and Sherry Cooke contributed points in the 400m. relay, long jump and sprint events. Bethannef Masters, Heidi Daniels, and Michele Watkins were strong in the middle and long dis- tance events. GAME, SET, MATCH! This year's tennis team started out with only a few practices before our first match because we didn't have a coach. Our next major diffi- culty was the weather. but it calmed down too, and we were able to get into the game. Our most impressive netter was Eric Wilgus who advanced to the second round in the CHI. and Sectionals. 74 Tennis
