De- spite many optimistic pre-season prognostica- tions, the Barons finished the season with only one victory to their credit. The high point of the season was the victory over North Union as the combination of explosive offensive and stingy defensive play resulted In a 41-0 destruction of the Wildcats. The Barons had three players list- ed on the All-Central Buckeye League Team; senior linebacker Chris Holt was a first team pick while senior receiver Fred Ftoehllch and junior tailback Chuck Johnson were selected to the second team. The future of the Barons looks bright as the squad has thirty-elght juniors and sophomores returning plus the eighteen-member freshmen team. The Reserve Gridders showed excellent promise for the future, compiling a 6-3-1 mark for the year. The Barons outscored their oppo- nents 72-69 as the defense recorded 4 shutouts.
