After winning our first match and just barely losing the sec- ond, I thought we were going to compete quite well this year. But when we played West Jeff, Columbus West and Mifflin, I realized that al- though we had improved, most other teams had im- proved just a little bit more. Overall, we had the most tal- ented tennis team ever at BV. I! the team improves next year as much as it did this year, we might even be a con- tender for the sixth in the 195 league! Most girls on the team had been used to playing slow pitch, and the switch to fast pitch seemed to make the game go faster. Also, slid- ing, stealing, and hunting made it a lot more exciting. But watching ev- eryone try to figure out which signal Mr. Seely meant while they were up at bat made the game more interest- ing because you never knew what was going to happen. For BV's first year in softball, I felt the team did very well.
