Our students, as usual, were excellent repre- sentatives in the school and the community. Realizing that the value of education must be stressed and encouraged, our students met a great challenge by helping to pass the levy to continue important educational programs. Tennyson wrote, To strive, to seek, to find and not to yield. 1! we follow his advice, our educational program will continue to grow, and the con- tinuing search for knowledge will be an integral part of our lives. It takes time for a school to develop pride. Delaware JVS, now In its 7th year, is gaining pride. Student activities with- In the school, such as sports, the Christmas fair, and the blood drive have brought the schoolls pride together. Com- petition outside the school like a prize winning Christmas float, and numerous regional skill testing awards, have ald- ed the pride growth. An active student council and school ad- ministration are doing their part to spread this pride, also. An increase in student aware- ness ofprofesslonal vacations are large factors in achieving pride. With a greater demand for vocationally trained peo- ple In todays world, the Dela- ware JVS ls sure to grow, and Its pride to grow with it, mak- lng a better community for all of us. 147
