Although the day started out badly, it got better as it went on. When l arrived at BIC I found that half of the team would be unable to attend, and we had all missed our bus. By the time we got to Big Wal- nut, It was freezing and rainy. By this time we were ready to go back home. lf all this wasn't enough Miss Head- lee needed me to run the first leg of the 2 mile relay, even though I 'd nev- er been timed on lt. We received a third place ribbon out of three teams. Even with the bad weather our team did fairly well. As a team we received runner-up at the meet with several of the relay teams getting medals or rib- bons. - Nita Ryther, distance runner Above - Girls 1980 Track Team, Seniors left to right, Tina Hursey, Kelly Rausch, Elaine Spurgeon, Deb Perry, Robin Seymour, Tamml Styers, Kelly Wood, and Debbie Holben.
