ANOTHER YEAR OF IMPROVEMENT FOR GIRL CAGERS The most memorable game for me was when we defeated North Union 67-55. This was the first time we had beaten them In the four years I 've played varsi- ty, and I set a record by making 23 of 26 foul shots. The first quarter was a close one as It ended at 16-all. Then we were able to pull ahead and go into the locker room at halftime with a two point lead. When we came back from half-time, we were ready to play even harder. The third quarter we were able to hold them to only 6 points as we scored 14, and the score was 49-39. With eight minutes to play, we knew we had to play well to keep the lead. When the final buzzer went om we were still ahead 67-55! This was a very rewarding win for me. Kelly Rausch. The Baron team rolled up a 14-0 ' regular season record, winning the Central Buckeye League and then swept two games to win their CBL tournament for an overall record ot' 16-0. The long and hard practices at the beginning of the season were very tiring, but, as it turned out, it payed oft' because when it came to a game we were In better shape than our opponents. The most joyous time of the year was when we beat Bexley 44-26 to win the championship. The tension of the game built up the whole week and when we won everybody went wild. lt showed how much team spirit we had and how much xx the season meant to us. - Ron Graves - Sports!79
