% F.F.A. And Agri-business Progress F.F.A.'ers were busy again as they worked successfully for a full and productive year. Enter- ing varied judgings and speech contests kept the Buckeye chapter buzzing with activity and anticipation of reward for work well-accomplished. The club also sponsored a citrus fruit sale and profited favorably from it. Recipients and buyers of the palatable delights en- joyed the fruit tremendously. Apple cider was jugged and sold to anyone who fell for the sales pitch. The club chose its queen and her court and was crowned at the annual gala F.F.A. banquet. Agri-business, a work program for agriculturally oriented students, combined work with education. A sense of money control and the farm market was realized. All workers profited not only in capital, but also gained valuable ex- perience for the future. Mr. Koppes served as overseer for the ambitious bunch. Row One: M. Ulmer. F. Echle. Mr. Koppes. S. Scholarship And Service The Academic Challenge Team made its debut on television on February 17, 1973, against teams from Archbishop Hoban and Chardon High School. The team, under the excellent guidance of Mrs. Campbell, was comprised of Captain Delbert Chapman, Bill Kerr, Tim Hayden, and Alternate Dan Bargar. After the grab bag round of the quiz show, the Buckeye master- minds had accumulated enough points to receive second place. Archbishop Hoban barely beat out the Buck men and Chardon High School gained a third place berth. Y-Teens this year meant a group of very enthusiastic, fun-loving, hard-working girls. Under the supervision of county advisor, Marion Bolton, the Y-Teens participated in many activities. The highlight of the Y-Teen year for Buckeye was the county-wide World Fellowship Banquet at which time Sue Foote was crowned the Medina County Y-Teen Queen. Other club events include a picnic at Whippes Ledges with other county clubs, the Hanging of the Greens, an overnight splash par- ty at the YWCA with other county Y-Teens, and Inter Club Council meetings where the activities of the clubs were reported and ideas exchanged.
