Superintendent’s Message Dear Seniors: May I take this opportunity to congratulate you, the Seniors of Buchanan High School, not because of custom; but because I really feel that you have reached a worthy goal in life. Courses in Modem High Schools today have been offered with a view toward developing young men and women into individuals, with a well-rounded knowledge of the world around them, who can accept responsibilities and adjust themselves in their communities in such a way that they can make this world a better place in which all man- kind can live. Your High School Diploma is an evidence to the world that the past twelve years of your life has been spent in preparation for useful living. I feel assured that this class has the knowledge, the character, and ability to take their place in society and to exercise their rightful leadership in shaping tomorrow's world. Please accept this note of greeting as a warm reassurance that a friend is standing by wanting to cheer and encourage each of you as you climb to higher levels on the highway of life. M. M. Sanders Principals Message In the future this book will help you to recall many memories. Some will be pleasant memories and some will recall sorrow and pain. Old friendships will be recalled and many highlights will be relived. It is for these reasons that this book is printed. Remember as you look at this book that your rights and privileges end at the point that another’s rights begin. Observe this basic rule and you will live in peace and harmony with your neighbor. To those that are leaving, the Graduating Class of 1963, we wish you the best that life can offer. We hope that in some way our efforts have helped prepare you for the future. Your leaving will bring sorrow to us, but your success will bring joy and happiness. May the Good Lord bless and keep you all through life. Your friend and advisor, C. B.
