For every opportunity we have in our lives today, there is a corresponding responsibility. For the splendid opportunity of freedom there is the responsibility of safeguarding that freedom. We believe that nowhere is the Youth of America given a better laboratory for the preparation of life than in our present day schdol system. In many instances real life situations are provided to develop judgement, loyalty, stability, and other essentials for good character. The YELLOW JACKET STAFF in presenting this Memento of the school year of 1960-1961 have availed themselves of the opportunities given and discharged their responsibilities in a noble way. DEAR STUDENTS: May I take this opportunity to congratulate you, the Senior Class of 1961, on your accomplishments. You have waited twelve long years for this event in your life and I am sure that your achievement warms the hearts of your friends and loved ones. You have been very successful thus far in your life and you have shown to die world that you have the ability and courage to stick with a task until it is finished. Your success in the past has been measured by grades and courses but your success in the future will be measured by your aspirations, your skill and integrity and above all your ability to serve your fellowman, your county and your nation, because humanity comes first and nothing is worth doing which does not help humanity. Remember anyone who gains his living by injuring others is a parasite, but one who earns his place in the great brotherhood of humanity by doing his part is remembered in the pages of history. I have much faith in this class and hope that you find all the success and happi- ness that this world affords in that wonderful tomorrow of yours. M. M.
