'PxcKcefr U 7 te4 ciye Today, as never before, our nation needs good citizens. The main function of schools is the development of citizens who think for themselves and who will set up genuine goals in life to work toward-- goals that have stood the test of time. Our aim in the Buchanan High School is to provide experiences in classroom activities, student elections, athletic teams, Beta Club, FHA and FFA Clubs. Glee Clubs, and many other varied activities in which all students participate, that will teach students a belief in God, Good Sportsmanship, Trustworthiness, Truthfulness. Depend- ability, Punctuality, and Dignity of the Individual. It is our hope that through these activities and experiences, the students may grow in the ability to cooperate and work well with others and in the desire to do something in life that is worthwhile. Let us always believe in an ultimate decency of things. What- ever you may fail at, you need not fail at being a real person. Sincerely E. H. Goldin

You have waited twelve long years for this happy event in your life and I am sure that your achievement warms the hearts of your friends and loved ones. You have been very successful thus far in your life and you have shown to the world that you have the ability and courage to stick with a task until it is finished. Your success in the past has been measured by grades and courses but your success in the future will be measured by your aspirations, your skill and integrity and above all your ability to serve your fellow man. your county and your nation, because humanity comes first and nothing is worth do- ing which does not help humanity. Remember anyone who gains his living by injuring others is a parasite but one who earns his place in the great brotherhood of humanity by doing his part is remembered in the pages of history.
