A quartet, which sang at intervals during the show, concluded the skit. To make money tor our project, we tried various means. In lune, 1953, the Buckhorn will complete its ninth year of publication. During these years it has had several advisers, but none were more competent than the present adviser, Miss Hargis. The Buckhorn stait has tried to get an issue out every other Wednesday. There were the regular special editions honoring Thanksgiving, Christ- mas, and Easter. At the beginning of both semes- ters a subscription-selling campaign was held. The Buckhorn again helped in paying for the special assemblies we had. This is the third year that the Buckhorn was entered in the Columbia Scholastic Press Associa- tion contest, sponsored by Columbia University. The papers are classified as to type and size ot school, and to the kind and method of publica- tion. Then they are judged according to how Well planned the paper is-including timeliness of news, feature stories, editorial writing, and sports writing. Everything turned out all right eventually, however. -A-floan Lewis Junior-Senior Prom The annual Iunior-Senior Prom was presented on May 24, 1952 by the Iunior class. The theme, Cinderella's Ball, was carried out throughout the dance. As we opened the doors the entrance to the gymnasium became the entrance to the castle. We entered the rose-covered doors into the ballroom. On the tar wall was a tloorlength painting of the castle with golden roads and a pumpkin stagecoach approaching the castle. The ceiling was decorated with streamers of silver and multi-colored baloons. Around the room were cardboard statues of Cinderella's step-mother and sisters, Lucifer the cat, and the two mice. In one corner stood the silver slipper on a satin pillow. During the intermission Gerry Hubbard was crowned Cinderella After dancing until twelve to the strains of Bob Lewis' music, we left from a dance which will never be forgotten by most of the couples there. fLestra Hanlin Honors Convocation Throughout the school year all students look forward to ne assembly program at which those who have achieved out- anding honors are presented awards.
