To The Class of '33 Marjory Campbell Not long ago this stately senior class Put trembling feet insid-e a first grade door, Subdued to utter silence, by the mass Of books, containing all the grown up's lore. How tall the teacher seemed, and what vast space Encompassed us when we went out to play. Bewildered by the'noise, oh many a face Bore tear-streaks on that long eventful day. We struggled with addition, learned to read, Mingled our smiles with childish cries of woe, And, when we conquered fractions, thought indeed That nothing more was left for us to know. Now we are seniors, all our work is done. This is the culmination of our goal. Soon we shall tread the aisle, and one by one, Receive with pride our precious bit of scroll. What then? We face reality, and grim The prospect that awaits, as we are hurled Into the ceaseless tumult and the din That marks the progress of a storm-tossed world. Shall we, who are the hope of future years, Shrink back before the danger of the strife? Or shall we share the burden, quell the fears, And help to solve the mighty puzzle, life? Fourteen

Class History Dee Weaver The grove of pines was fast diminishing when we entered hi.gh school under the shade of the ninth pine tree bristling with cones of knowledge. We were a happy group under its shade, and our class was joined by many new friends from around the countryside, who helped to represent us well in both athletic and cultural organizati.ons. We elected our gen- ial classmate, Glen Jesse, for president, Josephine Dunlap as vice presi- dentg George Cooper as secretaryg and Doris Campbell as treasurer. Hav- ing been well initiated by a good ducking in the mill race, we were enter- tained by the sophomores, from the shade of the tenth pi.ne tree, at a backwards party. We came up the hill to be under the tenth pine and found ourselves to be even more successful under its shade than any other. In fact, we even went so far as to have a state champ in track. We elected for presi- dent, Eddie Roleng vice-president, Alene Rileyg secretary, Rosemary Thompson, and treasurer, Mary Richter. We gave the freshmen their traditional dowsing i.n the mill race and then proceeded to give thcm a party to further friendly relations. We advanced to next to the last pine, the eleventh tree under the name of juniors, very well representd in all activitis. We elected Alene Riley as president, Bob Ellis as vice-president, Doris Campbell as secretary, and Maurie Aronson as treasurer. Fifteen
