Class History Now that wc have reached that long-hoped-for distinction of being Seniors and are facing the new life before us, wc remember our past here at B.H.S. As we look ahead into the future, thoughts of past experiences crowd in to overwhelm us. Our thoughts drift back to that bright September day, when 74 of us invaded the portals of B.H.S. Being fresh from grammar school, we were quite unruly until we found our homes in the rooms of Miss Virginia Milcy and Miss Barbara Griffith. Then wc were quite content to settle down and apply ourselves to our studies. I hus we spent our first year in high school. Another September, and again wc came crowding in, and why not? For wc were the Sophomores, wise and foolish. We were soon settled into the homerooms of Miss Alma Cox and Miss Doris Woodie. Several of us served at the Junior-Senior entertainment and looked forward eagerly to the time when we could participate in such fun. Another vacation is over and here wc are again, this time as Juniors, under the lead- ership of Miss Marjorie Roach. Wc remember this year for all the fun we had in present- ing our play, Good Gracious, Grandma” and in entertaining the Seniors at a banquet at the Community House. At last our day is here, September 9, 1943, and 42 of us gather in the Senior home- room with Miss Mary E. Williams as our homeroom teacher. Not much time was wasted in getting settled into our schedule as we all realized how short the time would be until our graduation. Wc have had a busy year both in study and in play. In April we presented our class play, Grandpa’s Twin Sister.” All of us enjoyed being entertained by the Juniors. We, the Seniors of 1944, now wish to express our appreciation to the faculty for their enduring patience and cooperation with us during our high school career.
