As the sun arises we see seventy-five timid freshmen starting out a new day under the instruction of Miss Lackland and Mr. McNeer. Little then did we realize that our day would be so short and happy. Before we have time to fully familiarize ourselves with the high school routine, high noon approaches and we find ourselves in the Sophomore year. The majority of our timidity has left us, under the leadership of Mrs. Ford and Miss Etta Alphin. Afternoon approaches now and we are in the Junior class, under the ex- cellent leadership of Mrs. Ford and Miss Harrison. Typical of all such groups, we now feel that we are to be looked up to. We are caught-up in a whirl of activities. We present our junior play, Crashing Society, and we enjoy planning, as well as attending, the Junior-Senior Banquet. Now twilight is nearing and we realize that we have accomplished much during the day. We have presented our senior play, Toby Doodle Dandy, under the direction of Mrs. Ford, our home room teacher, and also many of us have found pleasure in basketball and other activities. Johnny Berry, a class member of whom we are very proud, is now serving in the Marine Corps in the South Pacific. And we, the fifty-seven seniors of Buchanan High School, wish to thank each of our teachers and leaders for their efficiency, patience, and time in instructing us. We feel that their teachings have prepared us more fully to go out into the darkness of the night, which now faces us.
