tl)letu Council The Athletic Council, composed of both students and faculty members, acts as advisory committee in the control of the finances and policies of all sports. This “behind the scenes’’ group was largely responsible for the basketball teams having such a successful season. Jean Ford, Manager; Lohring C. Staples, Principal; Julia Hodsdon, Team Representative; Mrs. Melvin Edwards, Coach; Mr. W. K. F. Grant, Coach; Louise Zimmerman, Coach; Sam Stinnett, Manager; Paul Wallace, Captain; Marian Shorter, Captain ; Branson Strickland, Student Body Representative ; Harry Bell Mundy, Assistant Manager. Isabelle Ransone, Ozzie Worley, Mildred Mundy Under the direction of these three cheer leaders, the student body supported the basketball teams and helped them win. Even when the teams seemed to be losing, these peppy leaders were able to give that spark of enthusiasm necessary to change defeat to victory. LIE 1940 COLONNADE
