CLASS HISTORY OF THE SENIORS 1947 8: 48 Here IS a local account of the Sen1or Class of Bryson H1gh School The class 1S made up of th1rty s1x members young men and young women rang1ng from average to super Twenty one of the members are handsome and brave f1fteen are sweet and enchant1ng Through our school years many classmates have come and gone Only e1ght of the or1g1nal 1937 f1rst grade class of Bryson are grad uatmg They are Ruby Gl1dewell Sue Cullers Jean Flnnle Marguer ette Helvey B11ly Gross James Denn1ng Wayne Logan and B11ly Ho gan Others Jo1ned our class through our grade school years 1n the second grade Verna Coley Gordon Sm1th and Charles B1rdwell 1n the fourth grade Tomm1e Caldwell Guy Horn J J A Kee and John Butler 1n the s1xth grade Var1na Ann Grayblll 1n the elghth grade Charles Eller We entered h1gh schoolas t1m1d freshmen w1th b1g 1deas of sett1ng school records and goals the l1ke of wh1ch had never been equaled before Our f1rst h1gh school add1t1ons were John Eason Donald Cook Delt George Jr and D S Logan Our Sophomore year was not especlally outstand1ng but brlngs our new members The Junlor year IS most outstand1ng 1n our memory as lt was a very successful year Of paramount 1mportance was the Halloween Carn1val our play AuntSus1e Shoots the Works and the western styled Jun1or Sen1or Banquet Our class add1t1ons th1s year were Irene Hasson, Jack1e Ratllffe Earlene Wells Melba W1lton Robert Teague S F Damron and John Frank G11more At last we are Sen1ors and now our greatest step toward our goal 1S about to be reallzed as we are nearlng the end of our graduat1on James B1rdwell J1mm1e Matlock and Donald Starnes Jomed us th1s year Three other members came 1nto the class at m1d term M11 dred Stonemen Faye Crum and Mary Thurman Outstand1ng events of the year have been our play The Ready Made Famlly the Sen1or Vaudev1lle N1ght and our tr1p to the Ice Capades Next Sprlng probably the f1rst week school 1S out we plan to take a tr1p As yet we are undec1ded as to Just where we w1l1 go but lt W111 11e between Galveston and New Orleans C -I ' , 5 . .
