Phi Sigma Nu, one of the largest and oldest fraternities at Brya t, had another eventful year of successful activities. The first event of the Fall of l945, the Smoker, was a complete success as evi- denced by the many new members received into the fraternity, The frat'ernity's first dance vvas held in the Auditorium on December l, and was another big feather in Phi Sig's cab. The annual Pledgee Formal held in conjunction with Phi Sig's sister sorority, Sigma lota Chi, at the Wannamoisett Country Club was one of the gala events of the year, in January, the fraternity held a Stag at Oates' Tavern and election of officers for the next year, and Phi Sig vvent all out to make its annual St, Patriclds Day Dance something to remember, V As the year dravvs to a close and many Phi Sig men are about to graduate and leave Bryant, the men of Phi Sig feel enriched by their many pleasant contacts and fine friendships, Once a Phi Sig, always a Phi Sig. fl Fifty-seven

Duncan in Alexandria, Louisiana, to help others and ourselves reach the highest possible mental, moral and physical standards. Today there are chapters in colleges in all parts ot the country and also active alumnae chapters with Beta Theta Chapter at Bryant College. The year, V945-46, brought many pleasant social attairs including a Mystery Ride, held at the Seekonk Gun Club in November, the annual Pledgee Formal Dinner Dance at the Wannamoisett Country Club in cooperation vvith the brother traternity, Phi Sigma Nu. Tvventy-tour pledgees received the third degree at the February banquet on St. Valentine's Day, and the social season came to a brilliant climax at the Spring Fever Festival on May 4 when Bryant auditorium vvas turned into a veritable flower garden with Wishing Well, May Poles and May Baskets that made a fitting background tor l-ler Majesty, Dorothy Olter, who was crovvned Queen ot the May. The annual National Convention was held in St. Louis, Mo., on June lil, l5 and l6, with Claire Messinger, Victorine l-lealey and Shirley Martin the delegates representing Beta Theta Chapter,

The ideals ot the organization have alvvays been those of high scholastic achievement. The sorority colors are blue and white and the tlower is the Gardenia. Among the activities ot the year were the Pledgee Banguet held at Mrs. Schil- linger's, the !'Starcrest Festival , held in the Auditorium, the Sadie l-lawlsins Rodeo , which was also held in the Auditorium, and the annual Pledgee Formal at the Meta- comet Country Club.
