RICHARDS f 1. - i if-' Tau Epsilon in i945-46 has lived up to its high standards in the promotion of scholastic, social, and athletic achievements, The boys of the Red and Black colors played host to the freshmen of the Col- lege at a Smoker held in the Auditorium in September, followed by a rush party at the fraternity cabin in Wyoming, Rhode lsland, climaxing a hilarious Pledge Week, After administering the Sacred Ritual, a banquet was held and the new candidates were admitted to the fraternal bond, The Tau Eppers, pooling their resources with their sister sorority, Kappa Delta Kappa, sponsored two highly successful dances and a l-lay Ride. The selection of the Campus Queen was made at one of these affairs. MISS DOROTHY HIIXIES and MISS ALICE HINES Originated in I929 as a national sorority, Kappa Delta Kappa later became a state organization, with Tau Epsilon as its brother fraternity. The gardenia is the sorority's flower, and the colors are green and vvhite. On October IS, an unusual scavenger hunt provided hilarity for pledgees and members, a banquet and formal initiation was held on November 20, and no one will 'forget the dance given with Tau Epsilon on January I2 when a Campus Queen was chosen. The Pledgee Formal Dinner and Dance also vvas held with Tau Epsilon on Febru- ary 8 at the Biltmore Hotel The Rush Party on March 28 vvas a big success as was the May I8 dance in the Auditoroum.

Duncan in Alexandria, Louisiana, to help others and ourselves reach the highest possible mental, moral and physical standards. Today there are chapters in colleges in all parts ot the country and also active alumnae chapters with Beta Theta Chapter at Bryant College. The year, V945-46, brought many pleasant social attairs including a Mystery Ride, held at the Seekonk Gun Club in November, the annual Pledgee Formal Dinner Dance at the Wannamoisett Country Club in cooperation vvith the brother traternity, Phi Sigma Nu. Tvventy-tour pledgees received the third degree at the February banquet on St. Valentine's Day, and the social season came to a brilliant climax at the Spring Fever Festival on May 4 when Bryant auditorium vvas turned into a veritable flower garden with Wishing Well, May Poles and May Baskets that made a fitting background tor l-ler Majesty, Dorothy Olter, who was crovvned Queen ot the May. The annual National Convention was held in St. Louis, Mo., on June lil, l5 and l6, with Claire Messinger, Victorine l-lealey and Shirley Martin the delegates representing Beta Theta Chapter,
