We have attempted to take from the hurricane of activities the most important events that will bring many fond memories of school days to all students. If it keeps alive these mem- ories its publication will be justified. .iris-f Published by 1 6? '-gig THE SENIOR CLASS 2' of Q' BRYANT HIGH SCHOOL 0 JVAQZ t S f Wf!M!pimpgKZ,,,7w? Dismissal for lunch. 1 fx N ' J Here comes the Seniors of nineteen fifty-two, Swinging along gracefully to the Bryant blues, :'One God, One goal, One Destiny represent our dream, We chose as our class colors, lavendar and cream. We began in 1940, with hopes held high, Now we are almost ready to say goodbye. One by one, I'll introduce my friends to you, In 48 there were 25, now 16 is quite a few. Kay Campbell is the very first one, And she always seems to have a lot of fun, She is slim and dark headed, with dimples deep. Some day a handsome Boss she will meet. Next comes Richard Dynes, we call him Dick for short, About most everything he is an excellent sport, Of his Ford Bessie he is mighty proud, When you see the Jr. girls, Dick is in the crowd. Robert Elzey com-es passing by, Lewis Shavqver is coming slow Bob, is an unpredictable guy- Where he acquired that walk we don't know. He spends much time in the Assembly at noon. In study hall you can never hear him snore, Yes, with a girl, it's too bad there isn't a moon. But he gets the sleep he should have had the night befoi Here 'C0m6S MGX Flauding, Our new lad, Here comes another athlete from our class, Gets in trouble, but is never too bad. In basketball he does his best to get that pass. He came from Gray, here several months ago, It's Eddie Wagner I'm speaking of, by the way, And we are proud to have him as you all know. He does his share in the cafeteria each day. Next is Norma Hoskins, an intelligent lass, Your truly is the last one to pass out, She is president of our class. Alphabetically, I mean, and I'll do so quiet as a mouse. Ask her about Geneva and she just smriles, But we know what she is thinking all t e while. CIO Guess, now who is coming down the line, a Why, its Bob Le Favour, studying physics all the time, Studies and studies and is never mean, But he torments the girls until they could scream. Mba Here comes Jean Longnecker, walking slow, She is tops as a waitress we all know. In study hall she gets a lot of passes From a boy in one of the other classes. Ah! Here comes a guy that is really on the beam, It's Eldon Masters, high point man on our basketball team. When it comes to pitching baseball, he really has class, Ask him about Portland and he will just let that pass. Next comes Eddie Minch, Burly is his nick name, He does his best in sports to bring Bryant fame. If by chance you see the desks out of place, You'll know Minch just plastered Masters in the face. Well, here comes a friend named Lois Morgan, She's a swell kid and as sweet as sorghum. Ask her why the rush and roam, She will tell you the Navy just came home. Next is Joe Moses, looking fine and dandy, He talks a lot and can't do without his candy. In Bookkeeping he is quite a whiz, That is, if Joe knows where the answer book is. Carl Myers is next in my rhyme, Tries to feed all the girls a line, Seems to miss a lot of school, but he's a good Joe, In his old Ford he can do twenty-five or so. Here comes Emogene Scott, with a twinkle in her eye, She is cute, short, and a little shy. We call her Emmy and tease her about Fake , We think a nice couple they would make. Geneva 4 - S Z A f h 6' J ayrs BASEBALL SEASON or dmv For the next game of the season Bryant traveled to the Madison diamond, and gave us another score for the better, by an overwhelming score of 23 to 2. After winning three straight games, the Owls next defeated the Pennville Bulldog's on their own diamond by the score of 12 to 2. We next traveled to Geneva on September 22, and left the Cardinals behind by a score of 7 to 4. Thus ended the scheduled games and the 'fJay County Championship , playoffs were to get underway on September 25, 1951, by Gray playing Poling, and Bryant playing Pennville. To lead us into the finals, Bryant downed Pennville ll to 0. And the Poling Yellow Jackets cinched another game which sent them into the finals by defeating the Gray Redbirds by a close score of 8 to 7. This sent Bryant and Poling into the finals of the Jay County Championshipn. On September 28, 1951, Poling came to the Bryant diamond to maintain a hold on the County Championship crown. This was a sensational game up until the last inning when Ronnie Straley, a Freshman from Bryant, hit a double and brought us two runs in to capture the County Championship from the Poling Yellow Jackets by a score of ll to 10. Thus ended our baseball season with 7 consecutive straight wins and no losses.
