Class Plays IUNIOR PLAY OF 1944 For our Junirr play we presented a thrce act comedy, They Gave Him A Co-Ed. After much advertising, hard work, and practicing. we had the play ready to present on Febiuaiy 10th and 12th. Unfortunately, there was Z1 bad snow storm that week and the roads were blocked so that we had to put it off for a week. The first night we all had slight cases of stage fright but soon found that there was really nothing to fear. The second night Royce Wright was unable to take his part and Mr. Deaton, our director, very successfully played it. Leonard Dale played the part of a country boyg Fred Haffncr, the new dean of Cold Canyon Collegeg Jene Wendel, college registrar: Delbert' Flesher, a young man looking for his idealg and Eugene Dynes, a lunatic. A group of college boys and girls added much to the play with their heart troubles and loves. Playing the parts of these were: Bill Orr, Hazel Pyle, Virginia llptygraft, Royce Wright, Wanda Pyle, Virginia Craig. Bob Masters, Dorothy Frank, Betty Jean Smith, Keith Gilles- pie, and Beat! ice Kenyon. SENIOR PLAY OF 1945 After much consideration, our class decided to give Am I Intruding? , a mystery comedy in three acts, for our Senior class play. Leonard Dale played the part of a country boy so well last year that he was chosen for a similar part. Virginia Uptygraft was given the part of the attractive glrl he won. Fred Haffner was featured as the father. Hazel Pyle and Beatrice Ken- yon played the parts of girls of 17, while Bill Orr and Delbert Flesher played the parts of their heart throbsf' Eugene Dvnes was cast as the mysterious Mr. Hoover. a crook: and Dorothy Frank. the French maid who turned out to be his wife. Virginia Craig played the part of the middle aged housekeeper. Duane Dickson was secretary to Wanda Pyle, who played the part of the dignified author of The Aching Heart or How to Cure the Ills of the World. In spite of drifted and icy roads during the time in which we practiced, the weather cleared up somewhat February 9th and 10th. the nights on which we pre- scnted the play. We were rewarded with large crowds at both performances and received many compliments on our acting, Dorothy Frank
