Swimming If nothing else, it can be said that Bryan Statiods swimming team was determined and dedicated. Beginning the year without a pool and with a limited number of par- ticipants, the team swam on to the state meet. After finally locating facilities, they swam a mile a day on weekdays and two miles a day on weekends. Under Coach Giancola's guidance, each team member showed much improvement during the year. The team made a good showing against area schools and several from out of town. For the swimming team, 1969-70 was a year of individual effort and resulting achievement. Coach Giancola presents a trophy to Adele Green who qualified among the top six 1' the state in two events. Coach Giancola presents letters to members of the team.

They had a 3-1 record in dual meets and placed second in both the junior and senior high divisions at the Fayette County Invitational. In the state meet, the BS girls placed fourth. Wlorking under the direction of Coach Barnett, the birls, gym- nastic team worked long and hard and hzd a fine season be- cause of it.

A. Captain Norman Olsen drives. Golf Although the golf teamhs record of three wins and sixteen losses may not sound suc- cessful, it did show a marked improvement for the team over the year before. Bryan Station had many excellent players Who sac- rificed most of their spare time for golf. Both Coach Barlow and the team gained much experience during the yearhs play and practice and counted the time on the golf team as well spent.
