'For strong souls live like fire-hearted suns; . spend their strength in furthest striving ac- on. George Elia! The 1970 football team cannot be put down in history as merely an ex- ceptionally good team. At each game they brought recognition to Bryan Sta- tion as spectators crowded the stadium eager to see the Big Green Machine in action. Their spirit and determination were qualities that set them apart from other teams, as their desire to win made them set their goals high for nothing but the best. Most impressive, however, was their unity-unity that could be seen as the players operated as onPa machine with each man doing his part of the job. The 1970 football team was unequaled not only in the number of wins, but also in the honor brought to Bryan Station. 1969-1970 F ootball Scoreboard BS Opponent Clark Co. ............. 0 Henry Clay ........... 0 Franklin Co. ........... 14 Harrison Co. .......... 0 Madison Central ....... 0 Thomas Jefferson ...... 6 Bourbon Co. .......... 2 Lafayette ............. 7 Montgomery Co. ....... 0 Tates Creek ........... 12 Campbell Co. .......... 6 Corbin STATE FINALS Elizabethtown ......... 21
