The Von Trapp children line up for their father's strict military inspection. tRighU Maria Uudy MonthieT meets the stern Captain Von Trapp tDavid WyattT. Capacity Crowds Enjoy the Sound of Music The smell of the greasepaint can cause a helter-skelter mess backstage. First there were weeks of preparation- auditioning, rehearsing, searching for props, making costumes, painting scen- ery, memorizing lines and music. Then it was opening night for The Sound of Music under the direction of Mrs. Barbe ara Hull and Mr. Charles Wells. The cast was delighted with one member of the audience who turned out to be the grandson of the original Maria Von Trapp, about whom the play was written. All of the time spent grumbling about the long hours of rehearsal faded into oblivion as the cast listened to the ap- plause which meant a job well done.
