Consequently. it was necessary for those- par- ticularly interested in the work In get enough others interested to fortn a staff. This was done by Nancy Roe and Edward Eaton principally, with the help of otll' able advisor, Mr. lYagner, who fitted in the places on the Staff by the end uf Nm, einber. liecause of these delays in getting started, we found that obtaining enough suitable dates for dances. carnival, and the like was rather difficult, and tliis was our next problem. Through the winter the advance sale was over three hundred copies, these sales, together with the frequent dances and the carnival which earn- ed nearly fliI2O, have provided the money necessary for the publication. Also dur- ing the winter the problem of our greatest single expense was solvedg viz., to whom would we entrust the engraving account. 'l hen the dtunniy was inade and space divided upon for the various pictures, articles, writeups, etc. Thus the 1934 Annual was created. and we hope that interest in next years staff will be great enough and shown early enough to prevent the liandicap of late organization next fall. To our successors we, of the lop, Staff wish the best of luck. -Robert Cft11't1'11er, '34 HI-LIFE STAFF Our high school paper has been published for eight consecutive years. lt has rendered invaluable service as a high school news connnentator. lt has been per- meated with the spirit of our school. lt, in turn, has promoted a general feeling of fellowship among our students. Uuring this year our Hi-Life has been especially successful. Circulation of the paper has greatly increased. The students have been generally pleased with the paper's regular and original features. 'l he llifl.ife has shown careful work and accurate management. The unprecedented success of the paper has been ac- complished by a general cooperation of all those interested in its success. The ZETA-CCRDIA t9t 1934 pyyypyy pp yiyypy L24 student bndy must be congratulated and thanked for its notable work in making the Hi-Life pirssible. Particular rectignitinn is due these students whti have been directly connected with the paper. The Hi-Life aclvismy Mr. Haugher, must be cnngratulated for his careful aid and supervision. To the business men of lilryan, fur their tinancial suppnrt, the high schiinl must express its appreciation. lt has been evident that students uf our high sclinul have felt the need for fl scholastic paper. They have expressed their appreciation by their response. They realize that a selltnrl paper prninntes a gnml will as nn other single unit can1 that nu high sclinnl is cninplete without its news circulattir.
