l I Mr. uRod' Retires The 1985 SAGA is dedicated to Mr. Pete Rodriquez, Bryan High School Band Director and Music Supervisor for the Bryan Public Schools. Mr. Rod retires at the end of this school year after a distinguished musical career. From playing clarinet for and directing the United States Air Force Band to producing numerous award winning Bryan High School Bands, Mr. Rod has given one great performance after another. Over the years he has played professionally with such bands as Charlie Barnett, Ted Weems, Buddy Morrow, and Joe Reichman. He has taught band at Nacogdoches, Timp- son, Longview, Hawkins, Lancaster, and Bryan, has been a clinician at many summer camps, and has judged U.I.L. and T.M.E.A. events. Playing, teaching, conducting, arranging and writing music has been Mr. Rod's life. From the energy ap- parent in these pictures, Mr. Rod is obviously not retir- ing from music and has many more great performances to make. We will miss you, Mr. Rod.
