I8 After serving for six years as assistant principal at a junior high school, Mr. Dearl D. Richardson came to Bryan Adams. This administrator holds both the B.A. and M.A. degrees from T.C.U. and has done work toward his Ph D. at the University of Texas. Here, he supervises activities and curriculum by scheduling clubs, arranging assemblies, and coordinating student activities with school policy. He assists the counselors in scheduling curriculum and balancing class enroll- ments. His teacher supervision includes instruction, supplies, and teaching aids. EBALA CED SCHOOL PROGRAM Beginning his day by calling substitute teachers and ending it with a three mile jog around the track, Dr. Robert B. Harris, principal, spends many hours at Bryan Adams. Dr. Harris has the responsibility for all areas of operation. His goal is for the school to attain excellence in every field and to emphasize a balance in academic and social objectives. As immediate past president ofthe Texas Associa- tion of Secondary School Principals, Dr. Harris is aware of the latest educational trends and frequently adapts these innovations to Bryan Adams. His energetic backing ofthe sports program, his administration ofthe academic program, and his in- terest in new educational ideas reflect Dr. Harris' ef- forts toward a balanced school program. . Pittman, assistant principal, and Miss Sarah Carmichael, pupil-personnel counselor, share in the job of improving student attendance at Bryan Adams. Mr. Pittman counsels students who are ha- bitually absent, and Miss Carmichael often consults with parents to determine the reason for a pupil's truancy. Mr. Pittman also confers with applicants for work permits and supervises the requisitioning and issuing of all textbooks. The enormous task of keeping daily enrollment and attendance statistics is handled by Miss Carmi- chael who sends the required reports to the state ad- ministrators.
