H. S. At the beginning of our Freshman year there were 16 girls and 33 entered. Now there are 18 girls and 27 boys to graduate in the year of 1957 from B. H. S. happy The first big event of our freshman year was initiation given to us by the sophomores. Our class officers were soon elected. Ken Pavlik, President; Donna Chaudoir, Vice President; Gervase Neuville, Secretary; Lee Neuville, 1’reasurer; and Jeannie Gigot, Student Council. A” squad cheerleader was Jeannie Gigot and the two B” squad cheerleaders were Myra Renier and Sharon Carmody. Home¬ coming Candidate was Priscilla Duquaine escorted by Vernon Berger. Lindley DeNamur was chosen as the most valuable Freshman athlete. Our sophomore year opened with the welcome party for the new freshman class. All the members of both classes participated happily in the fun. It was election time again. Our President was Tom Moore; Vice President, Donald Olson; Secretary- Treasurer, Sharon Wautier; Student Council officer, Sharon Carmody. Homecoming Candidate Pat Guth was escorted by Ken Pavlik. For our Junior year we chose Lee Neuville to preside over our class meetings with Hillard DeKeyser, Vice President; Larry Jadin, Secretary; and Larry Bosman, Treasurer. Carole Wery Homecoming candidate was escorted by Larry Jauquet. Next on the list of events was the day we picked our class rings which were to be the standard ring of Brussels High School from then on. For our Junior Prom we chose Wayne Albert as King and he in turn chose Judy Tassoul to reside as his Queen. The court of honor consisted of Larry Jauquet and Sharon Wautier, Jim Delwiche and Donna Chaudoir, Donald Olson and Jeannie Gigot,, Earl Neinas and Priscilla Duquaine, Lee Maccoux and Sharon Carmody, Ronald Bouche and Myra Renier. Our class a Ho took over the publishing of the school paper, the Nine Till Four. Pat Guth was Editor and Bernice Johnson was Assistant Editor. Mr. Vanderheyden and Mrs. Welk were our very capable advisors In the fall of ' 56 we entered B. H. S. as full fledged Seniors. Jeanette Seiler was elected Class President; Vice-President, Gervase Neuville; Secretary, Ken Pavlik; and Treasurer, Hillard DeKeyser. Our Class Cheerleaders were chosen as follows: Sharon Carmody, Jeannie Gigot and Pat Guth. Sharon Carmody and Larry Bosman reigned as King and Queen over our festive Homecoming activities.
