The SENIORS of Brussels High School Present 0 The 3R0NC0 of ' 54 DONALD ALSTEEN We, the senior class of 1954, with sincere pride, dedi¬ cate this issue of the Bronco to Donald Alsteen our capable and faithful janitor, who is known for his tireless efforts to please each and every one. Mr. Alsteen has worked with and for us for the past six years. During this time a ready smile, his trade mark, has seemed to lighten our load. His work has not prevented him from donating much time for our class activities. Our interest in school work was stimulated by the clean and neat appearance of our class rooms each morning. Don was born in Green Bay on June 1, 1915, hut has spent most of his life winning new friends in this area. We wish to thank him for making our four years of high school pleasant. 2 A At L A £. p ' 0o e • !m: • p’ Si - j Oi iA e Bo Up °d a ho v 2l e Headaches, headaches, and more headaches, but oh what a reward--our annual memory book, the Bronco of 5Ui After long hours of industrious en deavor by the annual staff, we are proud to offer you, our fellow schoolmates and friends, the Bronco”--an account record¬ ing our scholastic, social, and athletic activities during the happy days spent at Brussels High School. One more year of high school is now history for our class of I 4.6 juniors and we are looking forward to our fourth and final year at good old Brussels High School. This past year was a memorable one for our class. Some of the highlights were the receiving of our class rings, the prom, and our Junior Class Play. The following class officers were elected: Mary Ann Chaudoir, President; Donald Kerscher, Vice-President; Joe Boulanger, Secretary-Treasurer; and Gary Fontaine was our Student Council Representative. Mrs. Sweeney and Mr. Buth were our class advisors. Talent was shown in many fields by members of our junior class. Two members of our class were in the cast of the one- act play, The Fog ,which advanced to the finals in the state dramatics contest. Many of our boys were members of the championship football team and are eagerly awaiting next season. We were also well represented in other sports. Cleda Columb and her escort, Allen Alexander, represented us in the Carnival Court o f Honor. At the beginning of the second semester our class took over the publication of the Nine Til Four ' 1 with Virginia Bouche serving as editor and Bonnie Neinas as assistant editor. May our final year better adjust us for the future which lies ahead. 17 ROW I4.: J. Grunwald, D. Weldon, J. Johnson. B. Turba, B. Wagner, B. ROW 3: J. Lampereur, D. Baudhuin, P. Conard M. Dier. , C. Many sophomores participated in extra¬ curricular activities such as one-act plays, class plays. Band, Chorus, Forensics, and Sports. This year’s football team was made up of several boys from our class. The peak of the season was reached in a 20- 7 victory over a fine Luxemburg team. The overall season re¬ cord showed six victories and one defeat. The success of the team was due largely to the hard work of the entire squad. Each man did his job to the best of his ability and the result was success. To the four seniors, we give our congratulations for a job well done. To the rest, we say look to the future and more success which will follow only if hard work and the desire to win remain a part of an athletic philosophy. bo SEASON ' S RECORD INDIVIDUAL RECORD No. Player Games T.P.
