It is the 9th grade team that B.H.S. future bas- ketball players learn the fundamentals of suc- cess. This season's team completed the sea- son with a record of 7 wins and 9 losses. Highlights of the season included wins over Middletown and always strong Shepherds- town. The team lost 2 close games with TJ. and Frederick. Roger Dawson led the team in scoring while Jody Pearrell was the team's leading rebounder. All members of the team gave their best on defense and team play. The team scored more points, than they gave up on defense. Railroader basketball squad-finished their year with an overall record of 6-14 including a 4-10 cumulative mark in league D 3V- Hard work pays off and with that in mind our team became much improved and achieved a certain degree of success. With a few breaks our team could easily have achieved a .005 or better seasonal record. The l.V. Railroaders dropped six games by a margin of six points or less. Some of our biggest highlights were the following: - Being the only team in the MVAL to knock off Linganore by beat- ing them on their home floor 41-30, holding them scoreless in the 4th quarter, and outscoring them 16-0. - Defeating St. Maria 43- 42 with Andy hitting the winning foul shot with no time on the clock in the 2nd overtime. - Coming back to defeat Catoctin by six after being down by seven midway through the 3rd quarter. y - Rising from a 7 point deficit of the game to outscore MSD 18-2 for a final score of 48-39. - Working with captains Don and Keith. The togetherness that we shared and the family that we have become through the season will be things that we will remember dearly for a long time. -Coach Haines 95113 Qfauify Q.f.f5f1:aff B. Boys' State is great fun and is also a great learning experience. lt offers many different activities both mental and physical. We who represented Boys' State would like to extend our appreciation to the American Legion for sponsoring this event, and would like to extend it further in memory of Donald Darr, who has made it all possible for Bruns- wick to be involved.
