FOREWORD We are proud to bring you this first edition of the Devils' Diary , and wish to take this opportunity to recognize the efforts of the man most res- ponsible for its com- pletion, Mr. B ur to n Zimmerman. MI. Zimmerman came to us from Seville, where he had previously helped the Seville Seniors produce a successful y e a r b o o k. His organizing ability and extensive know- ledge of photography formed the foundation upon which the yearbook was built. Not to be overlooked are the excellent develop- ing and enlarging equipment provided by the school. Nothing very worthwhile can be produced without teamwork and our Annual is no exception. So this year's team wished next year's team all the luck in the world, confident in the knowledge that if they receive half the help we did, they cannot help but do all right. ADMINISTRATIGN PRINCIPAL Dictionaries are full of superlatives, but whex it comes to describing our principal, the book of Webster is woefully inadequate. Maude Edwards has dedicated herself to the task of changing and adjusting Brunswick's educational program to keep in step with the ever-increasing enrollment and expanding facilities. In six brief years at Brunswick, she has gained the love, admiration, and respect of allwho knowher, whether they be teacher, student, parent, or alumnus. In short, She's the greatest! I I I 4 SUPERINTENDENT No period in all Brunswick school history has presented greater problems and challenges thanhavethe last seven years. And certainly no school administrator could have handled these issues of growth and expansion as did our superintendent. Since his arrival in 1948, Mr. Towsleehasseenthe school population rise from 500 to almost 1300, He has presided over the tran- sition from one small building to two large ones. ln this trying period of bond issues, tax problems,expansion, federal aid, state aid, and overflowing classrooms, we are indeed fortunate in having a tried and true expert at the helm of our ship of education.
