INTRODUCTION Miss Dorsett explains problem in English to Johnny Watkins, Why have an annual? It is important to show everyone ' s individual picture , classroom and extra curricular scenes but more important it gives each of us a pictorial record of cherished memories that we can turn back to down through the years. Time has passed so rapidly and now that we are seniors we look back on many memories that are a part of our history. The following pages seek to recall with pictures not only our fun at extra curriciilar activities but of more lasting importance our class room activities that have enabled us to reach the coveted goal of high school graduation. We realize that this is only one small step to an education, yet at this stage in our lives it has meant so much to us that we seek to share with you, our reader, the cheerful, changing, challenging days at B, H. S. In our modern world ability to communicate is of primary importance. Not only the abilities to read with speed and comprehension but also with a degree of appreciation. Communication also incorporates the more difficult skills of written composition and public speaking if we are to be successful in a space e. The a- bility to think objectively and not be influenced by prejudice, superstition, and propaganda are basic to real learning. Much more technical information must be mastered by a person in a space age. Understanding of numbers and science are a part of the universal language of an educated person. For many of us high school terminates our formal education so vocational training is of primary importance. Our high school offers us skills that will help enable us to earn a gainful living, Basic concepts of right and wrong learned in the classroom and on the athletic field as well as at school social activities help a pupil formulate the sound moral and spiritual values necessary to good citizenship. Unless our schools develop within us knowledge and belief in American Democracy our very existance will be endangered. Finally through creative imagination and thinking we encourage within ourselves intellectual curiosity and in- dividual responsibility necessary to successful and happy life.
