Witten History IN MEMORIAM CONSTANCE ANN BUCK Connie who would hove been a Senior at B.H.S. this year, died August 17, 1960. The news of her death brought shock and sadness to her many friends at Brunswick High School. At B.H.S. she was an active member of the Tri-Hi-Y, and she had been chosen Vice-President for the 1960-61 year. She also belonged to the F.H.A., Glee Club, and she would have been a member of the 1960-61 Bow-Wow Staff. Connie was indeed a friend, always willing to lend a helping hand whenever she could. Knowing her capability, the Southside District Methodist Youth Fellowship elected her as their Pres- ident. She had been active in church work from her very young years. Her wonderful personality revealed her kindnes s and thoughtful consideration to friends and strangers alike. Con- nie ' s passing has left a void in our class roll as well as in our hearts. It is with sadness that we dedicate this annual to her memory. On these pages we should like to correct that misconception by showing the serious side of life at B.H.S. ALWAYS DECISIONS During our senior year we have many decisions that must be made which have direct bearing upon our entire future, and for this future, we must be prepared. In that preparation we have our library work, our tests to struggle through, homework to read with understanding, and many other questions such as--is that the right an- swer, should I date tonight or do my home- work, or whom do I like the most: Dave, Fred or Steve? BRUNSWICK BAND The Brunswick High Band is now in its seventh year. As a musical organization of merit, its existence is expressly an opportunity for those students who seek an understand- ing and appreciation of music by learning to play an instrument well enough to be on the team of varied players that make up a band. The work of the band is divided into two parts, marching or football activities and concert work. There is valuable experience to be gained from preparing and presenting all of the many appearances the band makes each year. Activities of the year included performance at all home football games and two games away at Farmville and Park View. The band assisted the cheerleaders in providing school spirit at pep rallies. The Homecoming Parade, the University of Virginia Band Day, the Christmas program downtown Lawrenceville were other outdoor activities. In the spring there will be preparations for the district three band festival and the culmination of the years work in the formal spring concert.
