LATIN CLUB The Latin Club, Sodalitas Latinae, is dedicated toward carrying the torch of classical civilization into our mod- ern world. Since this modern world is indebted to the ancient civilization in its government, laws, literatures, languages, and arts, the club holds that a well-rounded knowledge of Greek and Roman culture can help build a better world for the future. Club activities, which supplement the regular class room work, are both social and civic. The motto, Res Non Verba, is an inspiration for members to work for the good of the whole school. Club colors are purple and gold and the flower is the rose, so loved by the Romans and still today the queen of the flowers. The club is affiliated with the National Junior Classical League and the Classical As- sociation of Virginia.
