On the day of January l Z000 I had a llttle excrtement As I was drwmg down Park Avenue U1 my new Atomic Automobxle an old plasttc newspaper flew ln my wmdow As I glanced at the headlmes I turned on my Guzde Con trol and was lost m fond rnemorxes of my long lost school days The paper was dated 1999 and the re on the front page was Mxss Patrxcla Ann Doll s plc ture wrth the late preszdent s son who IS her flancee General Buck Rogers He has recently returned from a trzp to Mars to take over the Preszdency of the Unlted States As I turned to the socxety page a small paragraph caught my eye and I saw the famxllar name of Burl Martm who was now playmg wlth Tommy Dorsey s Jun1or Band Burl rs expected to be the next Band Kmg of Amerma In the old days Velta Sharp was a very quxte soul but Iwas surprlsed when I saw the pxctures from the Frontler Days In these pictures I not1ced Velta wearmg a crown whlch she won as Champlon W1ld Cow Rlder She start ed thts professxon when her husband Broncho B111 was mjured and she took h1s place She has a br1ll1ant future and 15 makmg money to pay for the opera t1on whtch wxll make Broncho Bull Kmg of Cowboys agam In the church around the corner a new preacher wxth a beaut1ful dark halred gxrl on hxs arm was seen walkmg through the door As I look agam I discover th1s lady to be the former Miss Melba Young She ts now marrzed to a. prosperous preacher Melba IS domg very well as a preacher s wde and we know she as achzeved her goal m hfe On the sports page I saw a paragraph that caught my attentlon As I read It I was surprxsed to learn that xt concerned an old school fnend Floyd Johnson The paragraph read Floyd Johnson chosen as Mr America of 1999 Floyd and hzs muscles have gone far m thas world Also on the sports page there was a picture of a gzrl that looked famll lar As I looked at xt more closely I recogmzed xt to be Azrns Choate Azns now has her own travelmg basketball team Her next game w1l1 be at Madison Square Garden As I read further on the sports page I not1ced an artmcle written by Leonard Young The name struck a famtlnar cord Ln my xnemory Then I re membered the old days Leonard IS Sports Edztor of a famous newspaper Of course hrs favorzte sport IS basketball Ask hlm any questmon about basket ball and he knows the answer As I turned the page I saw a large advertisement I recognxzed the name xmmedlately so I read It more carefully It sazd Pannell s Busmess College Wrxte zmmedxately for free catalog Founder and Manager Margxe Pannell Whzle readmg about the natwnal affazrs, I notxced a famxlxar name The name was J A McEnt1re J A as an ambassador from the Unzted States travels around the world trymg to secure peace We would never have thought 1tofJ A , . , . . . . . .
