UPEHINTENDENT fn TO THE STUDENTS OF BROWNSVILLE HIGH SCHOOL: During this year the cloud of war has formed again to dark- en our skies. Many of you have never know n what it means to live without the threat of having your plans interrupted by some nationalemergency. Some students have rushed away to join the armed services without waiting for events to unfold. Now it seems that those in charge of our national affairs have taken steps to clarify y ou r position so that you may make a few plans of your own. Unless some unforeseen turn of events should upset the na- tional s c he me, then the opportunity to continue your education should be taken. By all means stay in high school. You will have served better by so d oing. Make your plans to attend College, also. Our country will always need a n enlightened citizenship if we are to retain our position of world leadership. Q7 1 n F. Barron Superintendent of Schools
