S. history on January ll this year with a membership of twenty and with Miss Held as the sponsor. This group sponsored 21 county commer- cial contest here early in April, followed by a banquet at which time awards were presented to the contest winners and two Indiana University School of Business professors were guest speakers. G. A. A. l his year the CUNA. is proud to have the largest membership in the history ol the organ ization 45 members. Activity meetings were held each Nlonday night and the major sports included softball, basketball. volleyball. tumbling, and traclt. Informal record dances after all home games were sponsored by this group and were well attended throughout the year. The semifformal Christmas dance was the big event ot' the year and was held on December l6 in the library. 'lihe club sent seven delegates to Play Day at Indiana University on January 27. Oflicers for the year were: Virginia l.ahrmari. president: VVanda Sterling. vice president: Nlary l.ou Phelps. treasurer: Anna l.ee l.utes. secretary: Klart' l.ou XVallace. recording secretary: Ann Nlitchell. reporter: Xliss Patterson. sponsor. ,, ,.,, Y .. . The Hi-Y Club had 26 members this year. ln addition to the regular club meetings. the group sponsored a convocation with R. .l. Duke, state secretary of Hi-Y. as the principal speaker. ln order to boost their treasury. the HifY boys agreed to take charge of concessions for the Invitational Basketball Fliourney held here on .lanuary 5. This later involved scrub- bing floors for some of the new members.
