Now we are here. worldlyfwise and learned. three steps higher up the ladder of education. XVe are a diligent class and are continually thinking of some new way to make our class still better. XVe sold popcorn. candy. and pop at the ball games: we sponsored a sweater hop and sold personalized stationery, all of which was very profitable. We gave a class play. Sulphur and Molassesf' and held our annual Junior Prom. Both of these major undertakings were successful. This vear we lost several of our students. namely George Barnes. Elsie Cochran, Jean Now- ling. Carol Compton. and .Ioan Holeman. but we at least partially made up for this by gaining Martha Burden and Marliorie Wray'. XVe owe much to our sponsor, Miss Patterson. Our officers for this year are: Ralph Kin- worthy. president: Don Stall. vicefpresident: John Nantroup, secretary: Joe Ballard, treasurer. 18 The 1045 iifehh
