- V ,,, V -ee -' R SUNSHINE SOCIETY In September the Sunshine Society, composed of one hundred and thirteen girls, again took up their pledge as Snnbeanis. Their first social event was an early Fall party. l This was the beginning ot' a busy year for the SS. girls. NVelt'are work and social events kept the calendar overtlowing. The girls also did their share of spreading happiness and cheer at t'hristmas time. The greatest social event oi' the year was the Mother and Daughter lfintertainment which was held in the spring. This is an event long remembered by all the girls, for a lasting friendship is established between them and their mothers which neither time nor fate can sever. HI-Y Under the capable direction and supervision ol' Mr. Ross, the Hi-Y started out this year to make little history in a big way. Twenty-two members, five having been initiated into the cluh this year, met every two weeks and alternated fun and fellow- ship programs with those ot' a serious nature, One of the outstanding social events was the Basketball Banquet given at the School Building, in March. The annual Sweetheart banquet, held in the early spring, was put on in true Hi-Y style. The success of this al't'air was attributed to a short, snappy program, an excellent menu, and a good speaker, Hi-Y aims to help an ever increasing number ot' boys to dedicate themselves, with all the talents entrusted to them, to the promotion of the highest and best inter- pretations ot' life. Not only will they get greater satisfaction from life, but they will contribute in a more generous measure to the welt'are and happiness of others. OFFICERS President, .
