611155 F oplzcey Last rocket leavrng for Mars yelled the Spaceman as I stepped aboard Zoomrng through space I began to wonder what had happened to the class of 53 Just then the stewardess ap proached and to my amazement rt was Helen Lrpscomb l also learned that Dottre Srdwelland Lovetta Srmmons were on therr way to Mars to study the hrstory of the Planet I had no more than settled myself comfortably when the shrp landed on Mars As I descended whom should I see but Terry Lee Gray Hurryrng up to Terry Lee I rnqurred as to why he was on Mars He rnformed me that he ran the observatory whrch had the brggest telescope rn the Unrverse Srnce I had no specral plans Terry rnvrted me to look through the telescope Swrngrng the telescope around the earth came rnto vrew The telescope was so powerfull could drstrngursh rndrvrduals I found that I was lookrng at New York Crty Asl wasvrewrng 5th Avenue a brg black lrmousrne came crursrng along wrth the word Mayor on the door At a closer look I saw that Howard Koester was the mayor and hrs chauffeur was noneother than Floyd Rush I looked rn the Waldorf Astor1a and found the head warter to be Bob Nrckels The floor show was Just startrng It featured Glendale Vaughn as the vocalrst and Don Srdwell as hrs accompanrst at the prano I swung the telescope toward Chrcago and decrded to take a look at Brownstown Ona farm near there I saw Dorrs Goodson and her twrn sons Dorrs was talkrng to her nearest nerghbor Suzanne Storm who was now Mrs Bob Srdwell Suzre was the mother ofthree httle red headed grrls On another farm I saw Fleta May Austrn formerly Fleta Parkrson busy keeprng house In the b1g crty of Brownstown I saw that Iuha Purcell was secretary at the hrgh school Bev erly Brngaman was teachrng calrsthenrcs to the grrls Elrzabeth Behrends was teachrng commerce and Mary Belle Fulton was teach1ngAmer1can Hrstory Wrllram Abendroth was the prrncrpaland a good one from what I saw I left Brownstown and headed west In Reno Nevadal saw the famous Harold sClub now owned by Robert Watson Whrle rn Reno I decrded to v1s1t the drvorce courts The Judge turned out to be Bob Strnebnng Leavrng the courts and swrngrng the telescope further west I came to Los Angeles Calrfornra Walkrng down the street was Rebecca Bartrmus who was servrng her country as a Wave Agarnl moved the telescope toward Hollywood Calrforma Therel spotted Beverly Gatewood who was now a famous star Also rn Hollywood was the great preacher Bob Kelly Bob was standrng on the steps of a restaurant owned by Darrel Srdwell I decrded to see how many members of the class of 53 are now lrvrng rn forergn countrres In Tokyo at the Army Headquarters I saw that the head Captarn wasCharles Morgan Captarn Morgan s secretary was none other thanV1rgrn1a Krlzer Betty Bennett was the doctor at the new hosprtal there Among the nurses l saw Vernell Lourash and Maulyn Paslay l peeked 1nto the Unrted Natrons burldrng at Germany and saw Joyce Bennyhoff the Unrted States Delegate At an army base near the U N bu1ld1ng I saw Darlene Hursh and Betty Frsher entertarmng the troops At Algrers two members of the class of 53 were servrng rn the French Forergn Legron They are Maurrce Sefton and Johnny Purcell I saw Ronme Reynolds and Mary Bell Rush studyrng desert flowers In Italy Isaw Joyce Vance and Carolyn Washburn studyrng art Brlly Foster the owner ofa charn of grocery stores rn the U S was vacatromng rn Florence Havrng vrewed all the class, and because the sky was gettrng hazy I bade Terry Lee farewell and started for the Mars Hotel 11 1 11 - , . 11 11 , . , . - 1 . , . , . . . . . . . . . ,, ,, , . 1 1 1 1 .
