LAWRENCE HART The largest donkey farm in the U.S. is now operated by Arlene and Sonny Hart who raise nothing but donkeys and children. Their head-quarters are now in Nevada. MARILYN SEFTON Marilyn is now a noted agriculture teacher for women. She has perfected a remarkable plan for fattening hogs. She has never married, but is still wearing that first ring. BOB CRYE As you all have probably heard by now the best coach Harvard ever had is Bob Crye. He and his wife were married for two years, but now his wife is divor- cing him and leaving the baby. PAUL GREEN Paul is well on his way in his political career, He is now running for office as State Governor of Wyoming. He also has a beautiful wife and two fine sons. DONALD TAYLOR Don Taylor is now starred in St, Elmo's Paramount and the girls swoon and faint when they hear his wonderful voice. You will understand what I mean by mighty, when you read of the activities we have carried on during the past year. For our queen candidate at the Brownstown Grade School Carni- val, we chose Margaret Stine and Carl Austin as escort. She ranked fourth. To make our year a profitable one we started off with our junior Class Play entitled Take Your Medicine. Our combining of junior talent was a financial success. The characters were: jr. Williams, D. After our weeks of labor we decided for some fun in the form of a skating party. This being our third year of skating, we all could skate fairly well, and with the aid of refreshrnents, we fully enjoyed ourselves. Our men of the junior Class.-are men of sports. When the carnival came around we had Barbara Patterson as queen candidate and Bob Berry as escort, We had several boys out for sports: Out for baseball were Bob Berry, David Crye, Victor Reeter and Charles Henna. The team didn't lose a game. We had Bob Berry, David Crye, Charles Henna, Herman Keenan, Lowell Benefiel, Victor Reeter, and joe Miller out for basketball. Bob and David rated with the first ten. In track we had Herman Keenan, David Crye, Bill Forster, Elvin Pontious, Victor Reeter, Charles Henna, Emery Bartimua, Joe Miller, and Donnie McMillan. During the winter we had a sleighing and ice skating party. A good time was enjoyed by all. We look eagerly forward to the time we shall be seniors. Two of the cheerleaders came from our sophomore class. They were Betty johnson and Elvin Pontious and they did a very good job. After spending a day in what is called torture, we attended a fine party given by the Seniors, Our queen candidate for the carnival was Claudine Tropp ann her escort was Warren Reed. Donia Bennett, Warren Reed and Billy Feezel were elected to re- present the class in the StudentCouncil. The following participated in base- ball: Harold Langer, Billy Feezel, Billy Sidwell, Bob Bunyard, and Bobby Hopkins. Nine Freshmen played in the band: Jo Ann Cumbie, Ltna Jean Morgan, Mary Lou Cumbie, Ruth Peters, Nancy Lipscomb, Betty Bolles, Donia Bennett, Doris Hazenfield and Eileen Kelley. We took over four games before dropping to Casey by a score of 38 to 4-1. We ended the season with 17 wins and 13 defeats. Our highest scoring game was in the Regional Tournament when we downed Herrick by a score of 87 to 16. Our lowest scoring game was when we beat Farina by a score of Z4 to ZZ. The team scored 1,245 points to our opponent's l,l49. In the Conference Tournament at Beecher City, we defeated Bee- cher City, then St. Elmo, but were defeated by Altaxnont in the final game. In the Regional Tournament we won over Herrick, but were overcome by Van- dalia in the semi-finals. ' VE c'Iosed the season with three seniors, threejnniors,1:hree soph- omores, and one freshman on the A squad. Bob Hopkins, the freshman member, scored 31 points against Herrick in the Regional to set a new individual scoring record. By so. doing the team became the winners of the 4-county league and consequently the 4-county champions. The team was made up of three Seniors, eight Juniors, four Sopho- mores, and five Freshmen. With all but three of this years team returning nextyear, and with their title to defend, prospects for a good baseball sea- son in 1947 are unusually good. A .a E 5 E E . 5 A TRACK On April 5, 1946, the Brownstown Track Team won a Triangular Meet with St, Elmo and Beecher City at St. Elmo. April 9 the Bombers won a Dual Meet with Altamont. The Bombers won the Class B division of the Paris Relays and placed fifth in the Pana Open Meet, April 26, the Bombers took over the Class B division of the Mattoon Relays and next won the Na- tional Trail Meet held at St. Elmo. Bad weather hindered the District Track Meet held at Pana on May 10. The Bombers tied with Lanphier of Spring- field for tenth place in the meet however. The Thinclads closed the season on May 14 by overcoming Vandalia and St. Elmo in the County Meet held at St. Elmo. Elvin Pontious, the only freshman to earn a letter last year, earn- ed his in Track. Elvin won the Freshman Quarter Mile race at the Paris Relays. This race was open to all schools participating in the Meet. The Freshman Relay Team was made up of Charles Henna, Her- man Keenan, David Crye, and Elvin Pontious. They won the Freshman Re- lay race in the National Trail Meet at St. Elmo.
