SI -if viz' N In eg! . V 1? at V. M as fs s U' 'Ju A I L ' 4 5, K Four years at Trinity have been, to put it mildly, quite an experience. As each year left its mark on us, memories increas- ing, it became difficult to recall all the humorous and wonderful times we spent. Here, we are trying to write down, for the future, just a few of the many events which we would not wish to see fade from our minds, and hearts. I. In the fall of 1955, the first chapters of this account were written as the last class ever to graduate from Holy Trinity High descended upon Maple Avenue to be- gin a four year adventure, and truly an adventure it has been. Since then, some have fallen by the wayside, others have sought greener pastures, but there are still many of us left who have weathered the four years to relate our history, dedicated to all who have shared in the living of it. As verdant Freshmen we were con- sidered lively, fun-loving, ambitious and maybe even a little mischievous. But, as time rolled by and we became accustomed to the routine of high school curriculum, we settled down, prompted of course, by the Blessed Sister Clare's detention , Al-1 though we were separated into A and B, we pooled our ideas and formed the glee and leather clubs under the direction of the unforgettable Sister Jude. Field Day, Sodality, and Marylike Day proved to be some of the memorable highlights of the year, while everyone also enjoyed the St. CLA Patrick's Day variety show and the Christ- mas Show. At the May crowning we realized the first year was fast drawing to a close. Never was a happier year spent. ll. Returning as gay young sophomores, our easy smiles soon turned to perplexity when Caeser greeted us on the shores of the Rhine. Our Winter Frolic was looked forward to with eager hearts and remem- bered with happy thoughts. Our little room with one window was not exactly always overflowing with fresh air and the skylight in the middle gave us our own Island in the Sun . The separa- tion in the walls afforded a wonderful op- portunity to listen to Mr. Lepore's talks with the seniors and Geometry seemed to be not as much of a bore. Trips to the lab were our chance to relieve a little bit of the cramps setting in as a result of not changing classes. On we went, much to Mr. King's re- gret, as some of our gayest memories are linked with-Rutgers! Tears came to our eyes as we viewed the Terriers going down to Ridgewood in the last second of the Jamboree, but this was soon put in the past as the girls worked hard for the cheering tryouts. Another year loomed before us, Juniors now our name. SS HI TOR ,pw III. When we returned this year, we were sorry to learn that our beloved principal Sister Clare was gone. In her place was a new addition to the green walls, Sister Pauline, who was taken ill and finally re- placed for the rest of the year by one to whom we were to come to know very well, Sister Helen. In with all the confusion sev- eral events stood out and are not soon for- gotten. Our last basketball team with Tom Oswald and George Sullivan was cheered on to victories. The first and last Junior Varsity cheering squad can be remember- ed as having tried. Our guiding spirit for three years, Sister Jude, left Trinity, but not our hearts. Her money box was some- thing which cannot be recalled without a smile, nor her alarm clock. With the spring came the departure of several students to Saints' but it is difficult to look over our years without a laugh creeping in here and there because of John, Walt, and Ed. Religion classes with Sister Roberta left quite an impression, and lunch was cer- tainly made interesting in Mr. King's classes. A great time was had by all when the Junior Class of Holy Trinity took a trip to Bear Mountain, something we had been looking forward to for two years. Sadly, we said goodbye to Mr. King and Mr. Le- pore, their help and guidance remaining always in our hearts. With the arrival of our class rings came a looking toward the future, and our pride was increased as we realized that our last year at Trinity was almost upon us. 3 IV. The exalted rank of Seniors was ours at last! Sister Agnes Gabriel and Sister Therese Marie were welcome additions to the faculty, united we struggled with Father Murphy's envelopes. The seniors new uniforms of black and white added a change of scenery to the famous green , We became skilled experts? at, if nothing else, marching! For this, Sister Agnes will always have a warm placev in our hearts. Our Senior Swing and Winter Frolic flew by, the closed retreat was, for all of us, one of the most wonderful experiences of our lives. March brought Easter vaca- tion upon us. Presently Spring appeared and with it came our last classes and social gatherings at Trinity. The thrill of our class trip to Washington became a memory all too soon. The anticipation of the year- book, Class Night, and Commencement, occupied much of our time: June seemed like a merry-go-round. Hooray. Our last exams were over, never to be taken again. Then on Graduation Day, the four wonder- ful years we had spent at Trinity came to a close. Our school was not the most beautiful in construction nor the most elaborate in tradition but for all of us-even the most cynical-it held a way to fashion ourselves into finer men and Christians. bu 7 n Um? 54 9 XA P1 E A e Lcafwiz We as Cathol1c students have enjoyed the pr1v11ege of educatlon and extenslve tralnlng 1n a Chr1st1ar1 manner furthermg our mlnds and strengthlng our W1llS 1n Falth Hope and Love Whom may we thank for these pr1v1l1ges The two noblest people 1n the world our parents who sacrlficed much many tlmes so that we rmght be educated ln such Chrlst 1an morals as truthfulness 1n Character blmdness and deafness to ev11 honesty ln Splflt purlty 1n heart and love of God These years of tra1n1ng were long and hard for our parents May God bless them for thrs work Some of them have already been rewarded by the greatest and everlastmg reward heaven To those who have gone before us and to those who rernaln w1th us we the senlors as a token of our deep apprec1at1on dedl cate th1s our 1959 annual to these two noble people Our Parents I' I' Mr and Mrs and Mrs and Mrs and Mrs and Mrs and Mrs and Mrs and Mrs and Mrs and Mrs and Mrs and Mrs and Mrs and Mrs and Mrs and Mrs and Mrs and Mrs and Mrs and Mrs and Mrs and Mrs and Mrs M Balestrlerl S V Bobrowskl J Carey W Connolly C P Cull A M DeBuske A Demarest J Douglas DUb1tSky Facella P Flanmgan Fredrlck Glroux J E Goss R H Graber Grlffin Haldenwang Heffernan Heslln C Holmes L Hughes J Hughes Jacob Mr and Mrs Kazmxerczak Mr and Mrs F Kern Mr and Mrs J F Lynch Mrs C MCCa1g and Mrs T H McGowan and Mrs A Magurno and Mrs B Mal1HOSk1 and Mrs E Manogg and Mrs S Munlak Nlcolas A OBr1en M Osmolsk1 and Mrs J L Plunkett Mrs V Rosamond Mrs F ROSSI and Mrs A Schmeddmg and Mrs F Seremba and Mrs R Sloan and Mrs A W Smld and Mrs P J Stand1sh and Mrs F X Stuart and Mrs O Toolen and Mrs G T Wlll1amS and Mrs and Mrs and Mrs Jr I Mr. . . . .
