for 1976 Loretta was waiting at the restaurant with soooo much to tell me about our fellow classmates. It seems her brother Don. joe Walker. Don Hensley. John Leveritt. Jim Phillips, and Bob Rust are all partners in a detective agency known as the Black Shirts. Howard Thomas and Mary Jane Brunes work in a circus: he is a strong man and she is the tall lady. It seems that Jerry Giles really hit New York with a bang-he is an explosives expert. Our conversation was suddenly interrupted by the announcement that the guest speaker would now talk. He turned out to be Richard Bollman talking on Einstein's theory of revelations. Next on the pro- gram was a demonstration on glass blowing given by Kay Herring. a very famous glass blower making such useful items as mustache cups and false eye glasses. After the demonstration Kay came over and said hello. She told us that Dona Hollaway has made quite a name for herself in the field of art. She sells pictures to put on postcards. She said that Tom Hufford is selling refrigerators to Eskimos. It seems that Kenny Allen has really gone far in the field of baseball-he manufactures airfilled base- balls. Suddenly the toastmaster said that there were some celebrities in the audience. They turned out to be Hal Hufford. who has taken the place of Liberace in the hearts of all the women: Mac Moore. a distinguished lecturer on the subject of What comes first. the chicken or the egg'? : and Bob Benge. who is writing a book on the controversial subject of Why doesn't water walk instead of run? On our way out we saw Kay Davie. who is run- ning a school for model husbands. commonly called Henpecked. As we were walking down the street. who should appear before us but Gene Ennis. an interior decorator for sewers. He told us that .lim Sering designs jet-propelled cars. He said that Don Ray is quite an accomplished inventorg he has in- vented such useful things as the gallon beer can and the popular pack with forty cigarettes. I left Loretta at the hotel and decided to spend a quiet evening there but my plans were soon changed when Dorothy Carter called and asked me to her house for dinner with a few of my class- mates. When I arrived at Dorothy's. the strange decorations sort of got me until I learned that she is now a cosmetic consultant to the Ubangi tribe. Among those attending the party were lack Bab- bitt. coach of the Hedheads: Wayne Cassidy. who makes the animal jet economy run from Mars to the moon--a very interesting run. so he tells me. Kent Davis is really quite a success-he is a prosperous banker in Siberia. Peggy Linkmeyer leads safaris in Africa. Lloyd McCormick married Linda: they run a trailer camp for run-down trailers. Glen Heavilin is a tax collector: need I tell you he is no longer a very popular person. Wiley Davis is the chief pickle sampler of Dills. Inc.. Pickles for Every Occasion. Glen Eaton trains boxers and Nancy Smith is a successful manufacturer of rocks for rock gardens. When I got home after my thrilling visit and seeing all my old classmates. need I tell you how very proud and happy I was to be able to say. I graduated from Brownsburg High School. Class of 1956 ? Can one think of a greater achievement? 1
